The President’s Office has conducted a special orientation seminar, with the purposes of inducting the newly selected political appointees with the tasks of their new jobs.
In the seminar, which was conducted at the President’s Office, participants were instructed on the administrative and bureaucratic structure of the government, the essential principles followed in running the government, the ethical standards of political appointees, and the policies and measures on countering corruption.
Participants were also given instructions on how to conduct their work-environment relationship with the civil servants. Also, instructions on government financial policies and public finance regulation were included in the program.
Participants were instructed in the seminar by senior officials and technical staff of the President’s Office, the Civil Service Commission, the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, and the Anti-Corruption Commission.
Today’s seminar was participated by ministers, state ministers and others of those ranks, and political appointees working at the President’s Office. A second round of the seminar would be conducted next week, for deputy ministers and other political appointees of that rank.
