Councillors to take oath on Wednesday

Local Government Authority (LGA) has scheduled the oath taking ceremonies for newly-elected Island Councillors and Atoll Councillors for Wednesday.

Media Official of LGA Abdulla Azmeen said that all councillors will take oath on the same day, but due to shortage of judges, the ceremonies will not be held at the same time in all islands.

LGA has said that the new Councillors take over the management of the councils immediately after the oath taking ceremonies.

LGA has announced a schedule for Wednesday’s oath taking ceremonies.
