O-Level exam results announced

The results of the Cambridge O-Level (Ordinary Level) exam, conducted in the Maldives from 5 October to 19 November 2013, have been announced today.

Director General of Department of Public Examinations Ahmed Shakeeb told Sun Online that O-Level results have been sent to relevant examination centres via Cambridge website at 11:00 a.m. local time.

8,280 students from almost all schools in the Maldives sat for the O-Level exam this year.

Efforts are under way to ensure that the results reach all students today.

“O-Level results will be available from the school, for students of Aminiya School, from 2:00 p.m. onwards. Students can visit the school to collect the results. Students can also call the school and give their candidate number, and we’ll give the results,” said Deputy Principal of Aminiya School, Aminath Sharafiyya.

Results for Jamaaluddin School will also be available from 2:00 p.m., while results for Iskandar School and Kalaafaanu School will be available from 3:00 p.m., and Thaajuddin School from 5:00 p.m.

“This is the first time we participated in O-Level exam, and overall, the results are very good,” said Deputy Principal of Thaajuddin School, Sharma Naseer.

Student from 196 schools and 54 private centres across the country sat for the O-Level exam this year. This was the first time for Kalaafaanu School, Thaajuddin School, and Iskandar School to participate in this exam.
