Corruption case filed against former Director at Southern Health Service Corporation

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sent a case to the Prosecutor General’s Office accusing former Director at Southern Health Service Corporation Ibrahim Sabree of corruption.

ACC said that the case, sent under Prevention and Prohibition Act, accuses Sabree of misusing his post to obtain undue advantage.

ACC said that it received a complaint indicating that a project by Southern Health Service Corporation to construct eight rooms in Hithadhoo Regional Hospital was awarded to a company without it ever being announced.

ACC said that statements provided by witnesses proved that this was done as per Sabree’s instructions.

Southern Health Service Corporation, which has now been abolished, was established by the government of former President Mohamed Nasheed.
