Foreigner attacked at Raalhugan

A foreigner has been stabbed in the head at Raalhugan’du area at around 5:15 this afternoon during ongoing MDP protest.

Police Media Official Ahmed Shiyam said that the person suspected of this crime has been taken into custody. The victim was a man, and he has been released after being treated at ADK.

Police are investigating this matter.

Series of protests are held at Raalhugan’du since 17 February, an area which used to be peaceful and visited by large numbers of people and children. Male’ City Council, where MDP holds majority, has released this area to MDP for protests until the end of June.

PPM has sent a letter to Male’ City Council, requesting for Raalhugan’du area until 2013, indicating that they need the space to hold certain activities.
