Ga. Vilingili Magistrate Court has decided on the detention period of the 13 people arrested for the investigation of arson attacks on Gdh. Atoll Council office, Thinadhoo Magistrate Court and Thinadhoo Police Station.
An official of Vilingili Magistrate Court said that the court extended the detention periods of all 13 people; some people were given extra five days while others were given seven.
Sun is informed that the Police have made arrests in addition to these 13 people in Thinadhoo.
A Police Media Official said that efforts to investigate the arson attacks in Thinadhoo will continue.
As the Thinadhoo Police Station has been burned down, Police have rented a space to carry out their work.
Police also arrested Ahmed Risham Shareef of Rihiveli, Thinadhoo, in Male’ in relation to the crimes in Thinadhoo. He was transferred to house arrest of 10 days yesterday, after having been held in Police detention for several days.
Police said that they are working on completing investigations into Risham’s case, and submitting it to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
