Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed has urged police officers to use ‘proper language’ when addressing individuals summoned to the police office.
Commissioner Waheed said this while addressing police officers of the Criminal Investigation Department during a function at Iskandar Building last night.
He advised police officers to protect the rights of individuals who are brought in for questioning, and to address them in a manner that would not undermine their dignity and rights.
He also highlighted the importance of keeping all parties connected to cases informed of the developments in investigations.
He acknowledged that great efforts are made by police officers to complete investigations and send cases to the Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office with substantial evidence, and urged police officers to dig deep during investigations to obtain all possible evidence.
He also called on police officers to ensure that investigations are expeditious and free of corruption.
