Father arrested, mother and children given protection in domestic violence case

Ministry of Health and Gender has provided protection to a family in Laamu Dhanbidhoo, after the father was arrested for abusing his wife and children.

The police said that the case was reported to Laamu Isdhoo Police Station by Dhanbidhoo Family and Children’s Service Centre yesterday morning, following which the police obtained a court warrant and arrested the 35-year-old suspect on the street in Dhanbidhoo early yesterday evening.

The police said that the victims of this domestic violence case have been placed under the protection of the Ministry of Health and Gender.
