Dr R J C Pandian, who had worked at ADK Hospital as a paediatrician for 27 years, has passed away this afternoon.
Managing Director of ADK Hospital Ahmed Affal told Sun Online that Dr Pandian died after fighting liver cancer for many years.
Dr Pandian sought treatment for his cancer in India and the Maldives, and died this afternoon at ADK Hospital.
Dr Pandian started serving ADK Hospital nearly 27 years ago, on 15 March 1987.
Dr Pandian was its only doctor when ADK Hospital was first established as a small clinic. He continued to serve ADK after its transformation into a hospital.
Following Dr Pandian’s passing, Ahmed Nashid (ADK Nashid) tweeted, “After 27 years of Long service Dr. Pandian departed us today.. Known to all Maldivian's and loved by many. Irreplaceable loss to ADK.”
Dr Pandian is survived by his wife and son. His son Dr Praveen is presently a doctor at ADK Hospital.
