Names arranged for Thimarafushi by-election

Names of the three candidates contesting in the Thimarafushi by-election have been arranged by drawing lots.

Candidate 1 is former Thimarafushi MP Mohamed Mustafa; Candidate 2 is former Secretary General of PA and former Secretary General of Elections Commission PPM’s Ahmed Shareef; and Candidate 3 is independent candidate Abdul Rasheed Abdulla.

Four candidates initially submitted names to contest in this by-election, of which one was later withdrawn.

Thimarafushi by-election is scheduled to take place on 14 April. Kaashidhoo by-election will also take place on the same day.
