Government proposes amendments to Decentralisation Act and Export Import Act

The government has proposed two bills to the parliament regarding amendments to the Decentralisation Act and Export Import Act.

The President’s Office said that the amendment proposed to the Decentralisation Act deals with strengthening decentralisation policies according to the principles of a unitary state, as mentioned in the Constitution.

The amendments proposed to the Export Import Act are regarding increasing import duty on machinery and equipment with HCFC gas, decreasing import duty on machinery and equipment with ozone-friendly gas, encouraging poultry and organic farming, reducing import duty on miscellaneous goods, and changing import duty based on fluctuations in dollar prices and world market prices, said the President’s Office.
