The agreement for the $8.2 million pledged by the Chinese government to the Maldives has been signed on Thursday.
The ‘Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation’ was signed at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dhunya Maumoon and Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Yu Hongyao.
The Foreign Ministry has not yet provided any information on this agreement.
China announced its decision to give $8.2 million to the Maldives last Thursday, during a courtesy call on the Maldivian President by the Chinese Ambassador.
