Minister of Defence and National Security Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim has said the Ministry has decided to construct housing flats in the Bandaara Koshi, a few residential blocks for military officers in the south of Male’.
Defence Minister made the announcement while speaking at an event in Kalhuthukkala Koshi to reveal the objectives of the national security force to be achieved within the first 100 days of the new government.
Minister Nazim said a 72-apartment housing flat will be built in Bandeyri Koshi, in addition to 300 housing units in Hulhumale’. He also said the Ministry aims to improve the capacity and facilities of accommodation in military headquarters in Male’ and said in the future, various military headquarters around the capital will be able to accommodate all officers stationed in Male'.
He also said Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans and Computer Tomography (CT) X-ray scan facilities will soon be introduced to the military hospital Senehiya, along with consultation services for specialist doctors. Nazim also said medical assistant officers with primary health care backgrounds will be stationed in all operational command centres across the country.
Defence Minister Nazim also revealed that the Ministry plans to make arrangements for officers to seek treatment for serious illnesses from a military hospital in India.
