President seeks approval for six more ministers

President Abdulla Yameen has forwarded the names of six more cabinet ministers to the parliament seeking approval.

The President’s Office said that as required in Article 129 (c) of the Constitution, approval has been sought for Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Minister of Home Affairs Umar Naseer, Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr Mohamed Shainy, Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr Mohamed Muizzu, and Minister of Environment and Energy Thorig Ibrahim.

Five names forwarded by the president earlier to the parliament for approval have been sent to the relevant parliament committee.
