The State has presented photos and video footage as evidence in court today, against the four minors involved in the arson attack on the Police Station in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo on 8 February.
An official of Juvenile Court told Sun Online today that earlier, the court had decided that today’s session would be for presenting concluding statements, however, it allowed the presentation of photos and video footage following a request by the State.
He said that the photos and video footage will be watched at the next session.
The four minors, who have now turned 18, are charged by the State for attacking the police officers at Thinadhoo Police Station, and causing damage the Police Station building and property, between 4.30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on 8 February 2012.
The four suspects have denied these charges.
The State has presented witness testimonies to prove their case, and the suspects have also presented several witness testimonies in their defence.
The Thinadhoo Police Station, the vehicles at the Police Station, Gaafu Dhaalu Council Office, and Thinadhoo Magistrate Court were completely destroyed in the arson attacks on 8 February 2012.
