CEO of Maldives Ports Authority dismissed

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) Mohamed Latheef has been dismissed from the post.

A source from MPL has confirmed that Mohamed Latheef was dismissed sometime yesterday.

All efforts to contact Mohamed Latheef was unsuccessful at the time of press. Mohamed Latheef was appointed as the CEO of MPL last year.

A new appointment to MPL’s CEO post is yet to be announced.

MPL is owned by the government and operates all ports in the country.

As part of the shuffle following the change of government, Commissioner General of Customs Mohamed Aswan and Managing Director government’s main wholesale and retail arm State Trading Organization (STO), Shahid Ali were also dismissed yesterday.
