Soft copy of final voters

Elections Commission has shared the soft copy of the final voters’ list for the second round of the presidential election with the candidates

The commission’s timeline shows candidates will be allowed to endorse the final voters’ list from 2:00 p.m. on Thursday until 12:00 a.m. Friday night.

Both parties competing in the second round of the presidential election, the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), have started to verify the soft copy received today. They have also started preparations to sign the voters’ list, indicating that both parties are willing to proceed with the vote.

A 16-point guideline issued by the Supreme Court along the annulment of the 7 September presidential election requires the candidates or candidates’ representatives to endorse the final voters’ list before polling can proceed.
