The issue of no-confidence motion against Prosecutor General (PG) Ahmed Muizzu has been tabled for the sitting on Wednesday, 13 November.
Speaking to Sun Online, Fonadhoo MP Abdul Raheem Abdulla said that the issue has been scheduled for Wednesday, but Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has not decided how it will vote on the motion.
Abdul Raheem said that the Independent Institutions Committee passed its decision to submit this issue to the parliament in violation of the law.
He said that it is not acceptable that MPs against whom the State had pressed charges, who had clear conflict of interest, participated in the voting on the censure motion against the PG.
Muizzu has submitted his defence statement in writing to the committee as requested, but said that he was not given enough time to prepare this statement.
Muizzu said that the parliament will not pass the no-confidence motion against him.
