The police are preparing to commence the transport of ballot papers and other material related to the election, scheduled for Saturday, 9 November, to the atolls and abroad early morning tomorrow.
The police said that they will be prepared from midnight onwards, to transport the material as advised by the Elections Commission.
The first fleet transporting the material to the atolls will depart at 5:30 a.m., while officers will start departing to the UK, Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, and Singapore tomorrow.
The police will provide assistance and security in transporting the ballot boxes and papers, while experts of the Police Forensic Department are assisting with the verification of fingerprints on the re-registration forms.
The police will also maintain security near the ballot boxes and other areas where the Commission stores election-related material.
