Three police officers have testified in court today, saying that General Manager of Alidhoo Resort Jadulla Jameel refused to provide a urine sample.
The officers who testified in this regard are the officer who asked Jadulla to provide the urine sample, and two officers who were present when this request was made in the island of Haa Dhaalu Hondaidhoo.
They said that the request was made verbally, and when the officer attempted to show the form used to request urine samples, Jadulla refused to see the form.
In addition to Jadulla, the State has charged MPs Hamid Abdul Gafoor and Abdulla Jabir for refusing to provide urine samples.
Jadulla, Hamid and Jabir were arrested in Hondaidhoo on 16 November at 4:30 a.m., on suspicion of using drugs and alcohol.
Adjourning today’s hearing, the judge announced that Jadulla will be allowed to present his defence witness statements at the next hearing.
