President Waheed to meet with three presidential candidates

President Dr Mohamed Waheed has decided to meet with the three presidential candidates before the election on Saturday, 9 November.

The purpose of this meeting with presidential candidate of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Abdulla Yameen, presidential candidate of Jumhooree Party (JP) Gasim Ibrahim, and presidential candidates of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Mohamed Nasheed, is to discuss important issues related to the election.

The President’s Office said that the meeting will take place on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the President’s Office.

The president has sent a letter to the three candidates today, inviting them to the meeting.

The President’s Office said that the president will stress the importance of making the election free, fair, and peaceful.
