Department of National Registration (DNR) has said that 8,652 re-registration forms have been returned to the Elections Commission after fingerprint verification.
In an interview today, Director of DNR Fareedha Yoosuf told Sun Online that fingerprint verification has been completed for all the forms provided by the Elections Commission.
“By the end of yesterday, Elections Commission had sent us 8,652 forms. Fingerprints on all these forms have been verified, and they have been handed over to the Elections Commission.”
She said that DNR did not check how many fingerprints were rejected, and that the report prepared by Maldives Police Service after verifying the fingerprints, has also now been handed over to the commission.
Elections Commission first sent 500 forms for fingerprint verification to DNR, of which eleven were rejected.
