The no-confidence motion against Azima Shakoor was filed by MDP Chairperson, Hulhu-Henveiru MP Reeko Moosa Manik. He gave several reasons to support this motion.
Moosa Manik said that Azima Shakoor intervened in the case filed by Jumhooree Party (JP) against the Elections Commission on 7 September 2013 to Supreme Court, and made efforts to undermine the Elections Commission, and advocated in court in violation of constitutional requirements, and against the interests of the State and the general public.
He also said that she misused the powers of her post as Attorney General to obstruct the efforts to establish a legal government.
