Individual arrested for possession of alcohol

The police have seized several bottles of alcohol from a speedboat in Male’ harbour and arrested one person.

The police said that the 24-year-old man was arrested at around 6:45 p.m. today in a speedboat used for sports fishing at the harbour near the petrol jetty.

The police found 79 bottles of alcohol in the speedboat.

This case in under investigation by the Maldives Police Service Drug Enforcement Department.
