Supreme Court issues order on fingerprint verification

Supreme Court has issued an order upon the Elections Commission (EC) and other relevant authorities to verify fingerprints of voters with the Department of National Registration (DNR), if necessary.

Issued on Sunday night, signed by the Chief Justice, the order directs the EC to ensure the fingerprints on the re-registration forms, and in other instances to comply with the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court, and in answer to complaints regarding the electoral process, the EC shall coordinate with the DNR to verify the authenticity of the fingerprints.
