Young man dies after falling off from pick-up truck in Kulhuduffushi

A young man has died in Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi after falling from a moving pick-up truck.

The accident took place around 8:20 a.m. The young man has been identified as 19 year old Mohamed Abdulla of Bathalaafaru, Haa Dhaalu Kulhuduffushi.

Dr. Mohamed Ali, the doctor who examined Mohamed Abdulla said that he had died shortly after being brought to the hospital and that Mohamed's breathing was very shallow when the hospital received him.

“His breathing was very shallow and was unconscious when he was brought in,” Dr Mohamed Ali said.

Dr. Ali said that Abdulla Mohamed is suspected to have died from the impact injuries he received to the head.

“The cause of death is the injuries he received from the impact of the fall. There was internal bleeding but no apparent external injuries,” Dr Ali said.

A source from Kulhudhuffhushi said the accident occurred while Abdulla Mohamed was returning to the boat after unloading goods to the store. There were other men on the back of the truck, he said, and that Abdulla Mohamed was transported to hospital on the back of the truck.
