Court schedules JP's case against Elections Commission for Sunday

The High Court has scheduled the trial of the case based on complaints surrounding Saturday’s election, filed by Jumhooree Party (JP), for 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

JP has requested the court to order the Elections Commission to provide the voters’ lists and ballot box sheets related to the first round of the presidential election.

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has requested intervention in this case, while Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has said that they are also contemplating intervention in this case.

JP has accused the Elections Commission of several serious irregularities related to voting and results of the first round of the presidential election.
