Individual arrested for printing ballot papers

An individual has been arrested yesterday evening in Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi for printing ballot papers ahead of the presidential election held last Saturday.

Another individual was also arrested earlier in Kulhudhuffushi for printing ballot papers.

The police said that the matter is under investigation, but have not given any details.

Sun has come to know that Kulhudhuffushi Magistrate Court has given three days as detention periods for the two individuals.

Several complaints have been filed regarding vote-rigging, printing of ballot papers and theft of identity cards following Saturday’s election.
