Tourist dies while swimming in Medhufushi Resort

A tourist has died while swimming in the sea in Meemu Medhufushi Resort.

Sun has come to know that the deceased is a man from Syria.

An official of Muli Regional Hospital said that he was already dead by the time he arrived at the hospital, and that the exact cause of death is under investigation.

Sun has received information to indicate the tourist, who above the age of 60, arrived in the Maldives with his family on 3 September, and died while swimming near the water villa where they were staying.

The police have also confirmed that a tourist has died while swimming in the sea in Medhufushi Resort.
