Two people arrested in Naifaru for making death threats against police officer

Two people have been arrested in Lhaviyani Naifaru for making death threats against a police officer.

The police said that the two men are aged 28 and 30.

The 28-year-old has police records for cases of illicit narcotics, disobeying police orders, taking part in unlawful public gatherings and perpetuating such gatherings; and the cases against him have been sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office, said the police.

Similarly, the 30-year-old also has police records for illicit narcotics, selling of counterfeit US Dollars and theft.

The police said that the Naifaru Magistrate Court has given detention periods of seven days for both suspects.

This case is under investigation by the Naifaru Police Station.
