Jumhoory Party has pledged to establish a tertiary international-standard hospital in Hulhumale’, if Gasim Ibrahim wins the presidential election.
Speaking at an event named “People’s Manifesto” hosted by the Jumhoory Coalition on Wednesday night, Jumhoory Party’s council member Mohamed Ajmal said that specialized treatment will be available from a new tertiary hospital in Hulhumale’, including facilities for heart surgeries and cancer treatment.
“We will establish specialized treatments in this hospital, including heart surgery and treating cancer patients. We will create a hospital that can treat all usual diseases faced by Maldivians,” Ajmal said.
He noted that the quality of service in all regional hospitals around the country has greatly decreased and to solve this problem, a JP government will establish tertiary hospitals in five different regions in the Maldives.
“Some hospitals even don’t have the means to admit their patients, or a doctor, or the facilities to perform simple tests. The services in certain laboratories have come to halt because they don’t have the necessary chemicals. Patients travel three, four islands and they still don't get treatment. To solve this, we will establish tertiary level hospitals in five different regions, in the north and the south,” Ajmal said.
He also said that a JP government will facilitate easy accommodation, food and beverages facilities around these hospitals, provide a gynecologist or a staff nurse specialized in women’s care, including telemedicine facilities to all islands across the country.
He also said that a Gasim Ibrahim government will give special emphasis on upgrading the island pharmacies to solve the unavailability of necessary, simple medication.
