Presidential candidate for Jumhoory Party (JP) Gasim Ibrahim has pledged to establish water and sewerage systems in Addu City, within the first year of his presidency.
Speaking at a Jumhoory Coalition campaign event in Addu City’s Equatorial Convention Centre (ECC) last night, Gasim said a Jumhoory Coalition government will ensure that all the services are brought to Addu City and that they are at par with the services in the capital Male’.
He said that he fully realizes the vision of Addu City because most his staff belong to Addu.
Gasim also promised to establish education centres specialized in Islamic and Arabic education in different parts of the country, including Addu City.
He also said that the coalition government will complete the development of the city's Gan International Airport and increase the number of charter and scheduled international flights that utilizes the airport.
Based on a master-plan put together by international consultant, Addu City will be developed to the likes of Singapore and Dubai, Gasim said.
