Foreign Minister suffers heart attack, admitted in Singapore

Maldives Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdul Samad Abdulla has suffered a severe heart attack this morning.

He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore, and is undergoing treatment.

An official from the Foreign Ministry told Sun moments ago that Dr. Samad is in Singapore on a medical trip and that he has been admitted in the hospital for 6 days. The Minister’s condition is critical, the official said.

Foreign Ministry revealed that Vice President Mohamed Waheed Deen has decided to leave for Singapore to provide support for Dr. Samad and his family.
