President of Privatisation and Co-privatisation Board Mohamed Amjad as tendered his resignation.
Amjad told Sun Online today that he resigned from the post to work with President Waheed’s campaign activities.
“I resigned because I need more time for President Waheed’s campaign activities, there’s no other reason for my resignation,” he said.
Following Amjad’s resignation, the Privatisation Board is made up of Abdullah Shafeeu, Hassan Ibrahim, Ali Faris, Deputy Solicitor General Ahmed Usham, Ahmed Afrah and Mohamed Yasir. Yasir is the vice president of the Board.
Members are appointed to the Privatisation Board by the president, and they have to be approved by the parliament.
The parliament has not yet approved the members newly appointed to the Board.
