Man seriously injured in accident in Fuvahmulah

A young man has suffered serious injuries in a road accident in Fuvahmulah last night.

A source from the island told Sun that the accident occurred around 11:00 p.m. last night when two motor cycles collided on Jamaaluddeen Naibu Thuththu Magu.

Manager at the Fuvahmulah Hospital Mohamed Ismail said that the victim, Mohamed Shujau, 28, is a heart patient who had undergone two previous heart surgeries.

He also said Sujau suffered a fractured scull and broken right shoulder during the accident.

“Mohamed Shujau has fractures on his scull. That is serious. Also, his right should is broken. We think we can treat and save him,” Mohamed Ismail said.

He said that the cycle that collided with Shujau was being ridden by two young men below the age of 18, who did not have driving licenses. Their conditions are not serious, Mohamed Ismail said.
