The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has started handing over flats to recipients under category B, from the 1,000 flats established in Hulhumale’ under phase one of the Veshifahi Male’ program.
A senior official of HDC told Sun Online that agreements are being signed this week with recipients of flats under category B, and that keys have been handed over to 51 parties so far.
The official ceremony to hand over the flats to recipients under category B will be held by HDC in Hulhumale’ tonight.
The B-category recipients are people who live in Male’ who do not own any residential property in Male’.
HDC will provide 471 three-room apartments at a monthly rent and management fee of MVR 7,000 and MVR 350 respectively, to B-category recipients.
Agreements are being signed and the flats are being handed over to people who make the down payment of MVR 19,000, on first come first serve basis.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has said that there are serious problems with the forms of the recipients of the 300 flats to be given under category C.
ACC said that it is investigating this problem related to category C, as well as the forms of the flat recipients under category B.
The HDC official said that so far, ACC has not filed any complaints to them regarding category B.
