The Department of National Planning has said that inflation has risen 2.07 percent in one year.
According to the Consumer Price Index June 2013 report published by the department today, the Consumer Price Index rose 2.07 percent from June 2012 to June 2013, compared to a rise of 6.60 percent through the year to May 2013.
The department said that the most significant price increases in this month were from fish at 1.26 percent, actual rentals paid by tenants at 0.31 percent, vegetables at 1.31 percent, bread and cereals at 0.68 percent, and milk, cheese and eggs at 0.23 percent.
The most significant price falls recorded in this month were from furniture and furnishings at 14.48 percent, major household appliances (whether or not electrical) at 3.18 percent, other appliances, articles and products for personal care at 0.46 percent, and glassware, tableware and household utensils at 2.52 percent, read the report.
