Order of presidential candidates

The order in which the names of the presidential election candidates would appear on the ballot paper has been determined by the Elections Commission.

Candidate 1 is Jumhooree Party candidate Gasim Ibrahim, candidate 2 is Dr Mohamed Waheed, candidate 3 is Progressive Party of Maldives candidate Abdullah Yameen and candidate 4 is Maldivian Democratic Party candidate Mohamed Nasheed.

The ceremony held in this regard today was attended by Abdullah Yameen and Gasim Ibrahim, but not the two remaining candidates.

The first round of voting for the presidential election will take place on 7th September. The number of eligible voters is 239,593.
