Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has today announced their new party foreign policy.
The policy was announced by MDP’s presidential candidate former president Mohamed Nasheed, at a function held in Male’ City Hall at 4:30 p.m. this evening.
Speaking at the event, the former president stressed on the necessity for Maldives to expand and improve its foreign relations.
He pledged to make Maldives a respectable partner in the international community.
Nasheed said that he will continue his efforts to achieve carbon neutrality in the Maldives through work in the international arena.
Former Ambassador Abdul Gafoor Mohamed also spoke at the event. He said that they will work to make Maldives a responsible actor in the United Nations.
The event was participated by foreign diplomats, senior MDP members including a number of MDP parliamentarians.
