Ministry grants fisherman's subsidy to 20 parties

Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture has said today that they have granted fisherman’s subsidy to 20 parties this year.

Deputy Minister Fisheries and Agriculture Ali Solih said that a total of 237 parties have applied for the subsidy so far.

“For those who have submitted the forms, we are trying to disburse the money within seven days. Money is being disbursed to those who have submitted forms,” he said.

“We are disbursing the subsidy according the method decided by the Parliament Public Accounts Committee. We’re trying to distribute the entire funds as soon as possible,” Solih said.

Parliament has decided that MVR 100 million will be granted as fuel subsidy to fisherman this year.
