President concludes official trip to Saudi Arabia

President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has returned to Male' this morning after concluding his official trip to Saudi Arabia.

Members of the cabinet, parliament members and senior government officials greeted the president as he landed in Ibrahim Nasir International Airport this morning.

President Waheed met with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Thursday, the 11th of this month.

At the meeting, the President expressed his hopes that this visit would further enhance the relations between Maldives and Saudi Arabia. He also briefed the Saudi Crown Prince on the current political and economic situation in the Maldives.

At the meeting, the President also expressed his gratitude to the Saudi Government, King Abdulla, Crown Prince Salman, and the people of Saudi Arabia for their continuous cooperation and support to the Maldives, and requested further assistance to relieve the economic situation in the country.
