Two more videos involving Ali Hameed are under investigation by legal team: JSC

The legal team of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has said that cases regarding two more videos involving Supreme Court Judge Ali Hameed Mohamed are under investigation.

Media Official of the commission Hassan Zaheen told Sun Online that in addition to the sex video involving Ali Hameed, the commission’s legal team is also investigating a video which shows the judge discussing politics with businessman Mohamed Saeed (Golden Lane), and a video showing the judge meeting with former Controller of Immigration Ilyas Hussain Ibrahim in a restaurant.

According to the regulation, JSC would commence an investigation based on a report sent by the commission’s legal team after it completes its investigation.

Zaheen said that all media allegations against judges would be investigated by the commission’s legal team.

“Not just videos. The commission’s legal team would investigate all allegations in the media about any judge,” he said.

Videos showing Ali Hameed discussing politics in Addu dialect with Saeed, and meeting with Ilyas in a restaurant have been posted on YouTube.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has established a five-member committee to investigate the sex video case.

The committee consists of Commission members Latheefa Gasim, Ahmed Rasheed, Commission Vice President Abdulla Didi, and two independent lawyers – Hussain Siraj and Mohamed Anil.

Ali Hameed has been summoned to the police station on two occasions regarding the sex video scandal.

The police have also arrested former Project Advisor at Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure, Ahmed Faiz, for trying to sell the sex video involving Ali Hameed.

Saeed has been summoned for questioning by the police for trying to obtain undue advantage using the sex video involving Ali Hameed.

On the second occasion, Saeed exercised his right to remain silent and did not answer any of the questions posed by the police.

Later, the police checked his residence under a court warrant and removed some of his belongings for investigation.
