Current Leader of Jumhooree Party (JP), Maamigili MP Gasim Ibrahim has decided to contest in the election for the post of Leader of JP.
Gasim was the only candidate to have put his name forward for this election, which will be held during the JP Congress later this month, when the deadline for doing so passed today.
JP Spokesperson Moosa Rameez said that nine people had put their names forward for the four posts of the party’s deputy leader.
They are President of JP Dr Ibrahim Didi, Deputy Leader of JP Ameen Ibrahim, Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan, Gemanafushi MP Ilham Ahmed, Council Member Fuad Gasim, Spokesperson of JP Moosa Rameez, President of JP’s Youth Wing Moosa Anwar, Abdullah Amaan and Ali Hameed.
JP will hold its Congress on 16 and 17 July in Male’.
