Food and beverage chains - Thai Express, Burger King and Coffee Club - have officially opened their outlets in Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA).
The three international F&B chains opened shop at a food court in INIA today, located on the ground floor near the departure terminal entrance.
The food court is run under an agreement between Thailand company Minor International and the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
Speaking at the official opening ceremony this morning, Managing Director of MACL Bandhu Ibrahim Saleem the opening of the world famous food and beverages facilitites mark the beginning of the never-ending development that the future of the airport will experience.
He also urged Maldivian students to seek employment from the facilities, noting that earning while studying is a good way to gain experience.
He said that the airport will see significant investment spring up in the near future.
The cost of a burger from the new Burger King ranges from $7 to $17.5, while a meal at Thai Express will cost from $6 to $9. Price for coffees at the Coffee Club ranges from $3.5 to $5.5 per cup.
