A 66 year old man has been stabbed in Hithadhoo, Addu City.
The man injured has been identified by Hassan Ali (Hassanfutha), Saifaimaage, Seenu Hithadhoo.
Police Media Official said that the incident occurred around 2:44 pm today in an area known as Usagandu in Hithadhoo. The man was stabbed in his ear and arm and is being treated in Hithadhoo Hospital, the police official said.
Police said that they have commenced investigations and are currently seeking a group in connection to the stabbing.
Public Relations Officer at the Hithadhoo Regional Hospital Ali Moosa said that the man had a 1-inch gash below his right elbow and a wound near his left ear. He is reported to have sustained no other injuries.
“He said that a group attacked him with a knife. He said that he was going to the west side of the island to throw something away. he did not see them properly he said. He had his back to them. He said that the people attacked him and feld,” Ali Moosa said.
