Girl who jumped from ferry saved by MNDF Officer

A young girl who jumped into the sea from a ferry travelling from Feydhoo to Meedhoo in Addu City has been saved by a Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Officer.

Captain of the MVK ferry, Ibrahim Ahmed said that a 15-year-old girl who jumped into the sea from the ferry yesterday was saved by an officer who also happened to be on-board.

Ibrahim Ahmed said that as soon as the people on the ferry came to know that she had jumped, the officer put on a life vest and jumped after her.

He said that the girl is currently admitted at Hulhudhoo Health Centre.

MNDF Media Officer Abdullah Ali also confirmed that this incident took place yesterday evening, and said that the girl was saved by an MNDF Officer currently in Addu to manage an MNDF training batch.
