Injunction issued to halt further administrative action against High Court Chief Judge

Civil Court has issued an injunction to halt any further administrative action against Chief Judge of High Court Ahmed Shareef Ali.

The injunction was granted after Judge Ahmed Shareef requested the Civil Court for the order.

The injunction orders the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to restrain from any further administrative actions against the Judge that might hinder his rights. It also states that the injunction will be in effect until all court proceedings regarding the case are completed.

Husnu Ali Suood, lawyer representing the Chief Judge, previously said that the Civil Court case requests for the court to invalidate the decision by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to suspend Judge Shareef, on the grounds that their decision was an illegal decision.

The case highlights four main points, Suood said, and that the case submitted to JSC against Judge Ahmed Shareef had not undergone due procedure.
