Event to sign 5 point pledge cancelled due to bad weather

The event planned by the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) to sign a 5 point pledge to uphold media freedom has been cancelled due to bad weather.

The cancellation was announced by MBC in a text message sent moments ago.

MBC formulated the 5 point pledge to uphold media freedom as per article 28 of the constitution, and proposed state institutions to sign the pledge on World Press Freedom Day.
