Man sentenced to 18 years in prison for abusing 6 year old

Faafu Nilandhoo Magistrate Court has sentence a man to 18 years in prison for sexually abusing a 6 year old girl.

The sentence was passed upon Moosa Ali of Hithahfinivaage, Faafu Nilandhoo, 49 years of age, for sexually abusing the girl that had been in a position of trust when the acts were committed.

According to an official from Faafu Nilandhoo Magistrate Court, the man was proven to have sexually abused the six year old child on numerous occasions last year.

The sentence was passed yesterday, the official said.

The court sentenced Moosa Ali under article 9 (b) in reference to article (a) of the law governing special penalties for offenders of child abuse.
