Hussain Shihab appointed Non-Resident Ambassador for Australia

President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has appointed Hussain Shihab of M. Kalee as the Non-Resident Ambassador for Australia.

President’s Office has stated that the appointment was made under Article 115 (l) of the Constitution, which grants the President the power to appoint members of diplomatic missions to foreign countries and international organizations, in consultation with the Parliament.

Hussain Shihab previously held post of Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Philippines.
